Found in poor, dry soils as well as wet pond edges, Broom Sedge (Andropogon virginicus) is a good soil stabilization grass with ornamental qualities. It often grows with Little Bluestem, and the two combine to make a nice grassy meadow in full sun. Broom sedge grows 12-24 inches tall in very narrow, upright clumps, turning a nice auburn color in the fall.
Our Broom Sedge Plug Flats are available in 32-Cell and 50-Cell Deep Plug Flats, and are an economical option for planting large areas.
