Lindera benzoin (Spicebush) - Qt Super Plugs$10.98
Common in woodlands throughout Eastern North America, Spicebush is a must-have for the woodland garden. With very early spring yellow flowers, bold and lustrous summer texture and brilliant autumn foliage and berry clusters, Spicebush is one of the most important shrubs of the central hardwoods. Birds love the berries, and the plant also serves as a host for the Spicebush Swallowtail butterfly larvae.
Plant spicebush in moist to dry soil in partial to full shade. Plants may need water in dry spells the first year, but prove to be relatively drought-tolerant once established.
Our rootmaker plugs offer quick rooting and establishment, with accelerated growth compaired to standard or bareroot stock. Plugs are 12-24 inches tall, and should begin blooming within 2-3 years from planting.
