Found in moist woodland areas over the eastern half of North America, golden groundsel is a great native groundcover with cheery yellow blooms and large round leaves that make for a lush green feel in the woodland garden. While it can be aggressive in some situations, especially moist to swampy soils with part sun, it does combine well with other native woodland wildflowers in naturalistic settings.
Plant Golden Groundsel 12 inches apart in moist soil - Full sun is tolerated if the spot stays moist all summer.
Our plug flats are an economical way to plant large areas - We currently grow Golden Groundsel in 50-cell deep plug flats.
